Arriving in Atlanta after 10 hours flight, the passport control was one of the fastest ever. One almost can call it self check-in, as one has himself to scan the passport, fingers and answer some questions if you have already been in the USA before with the same passport. Cool, except that it took almost 15 Minutus to walk from the gate to the custom.
After picking up the car I learned that here the majority drives faster then the speed limit. Fortunately I have a car with adaptive speed control. This makes driving more relaxing.
Arkansas

Today was time for a visit in the Old State House in Little Rock. It is today used as a museum with totaly different exhibits.

Missouri

Next big destination St. Louis. When I was the first time in the USA, I saw it out of the plan. Now I see the Arch from close.
Illinoise

After a some driving we end up in Chicago. I learned the hard way that parking is not cheap downtown. Between 109 minutes and 4 hours the fee is $37.-. After the first walk around in the city, I wanted to pay this fee. But my credit card was not accepted so I had to spend some cash. Parking got much cheaper after we discovered the right App where you book in advance and pay much less.
Indiana

Driving back to the south we mad a stop in Indianapolis and visited the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Museum. Some Juniors where racing on the track while we visited the exhibition.
Tennessee

After the short 1000 Miles excursion we are back in the south. After a visit to the Hard Rock Cafe in Mephis it’s time to relax. One day later we are in Graceland. Elvis Lebt.
Alabama

Huntsville is home to the Space and Rocket Center. We had a good look at the international space station, well at least a model of it. The exhibit shows also a real size Saturn V rocket, which brought man on the moon and a Space Shuttle is also on display.
Tennessee

The Jack Daniel Distillery visit was another interesting stop on our trip.

We just passed through Nashville and only had a look at the Country Music Hall of Fame. The city center was very crowded. After we left we saw why. The ice hockey Stanly Cup final was this evening. So, a lot of fans of either team. In the end Nashville Predators lost against Pittsburgh Penguins.

First time we hiked in nature was on the Black Mountain Loop Trail. It just took an hour with some beautiful views.

Sevierville was our starting point into the Great Smoky Mountains National Park. First, we went horse riding. After that on the loop we were lucky to see a black bear with one of his small one. Cool!
Hiking to the Abrams water fall took us 2 hours return. Very nice walk up and down to the relaxing water fall.
With the car, we drove to 1850 above sea level and walked half a mile to the peak at 2015 meters above sea level. The highest point in the Smokies.
North Carolina

After the National Park is the Cherokee State Park. Also beautiful drive through hills and trees.
We visited the Oconaluftee Indian Village. This reconstruction of an old Indian settlement shows the way of living of the Cherokee Indians in the 18th century.
Georgia

The visit to the World of Coca Cola is mandatory in Atlanta and started our day. The roller coasters in Six Flags over Georgia followed and was fun. The waiting time was short and so we spent much time on the rides.
The CNN tour was very interesting. We saw where the news was collected and finally aired.
The National Center for Civil and Human Rights shows the fight for equality, impressive!
Because my Navigation System didn’t find the right address we had an excursion through the country side. Interesting how they live with the next neighbor’s some miles away.

We walked through the old town of Savannah and looked at the old houses.
Florida

The idea is to relax in St. Augustin and so I booked the hotel just 200 meters away from the beach. Unfortunately, the weather is not so good.

Next Beach is the famos Daytona Beach.

The last official travel highlight is Kennedy Space Center. After that the travel will be finnished, where we just relax in a cool house in Orlando.

P.S. In the Kennedy Space Center I received the first time in my live a Senior discount. Can I retire now?
